Secrets are unspoken words. They're either un-thought of thoughts or over-thought of thoughts. They're things we write in our journals. They're locked inside our houses. They're trapped inside our mouths. They're sketched inside our minds. Secrets are only for us.
Everyone has secrets.
People keep secrets because they're scared. They're scared of what other people think, they're scared of not having anything to hide behind, they're scared of being known.
Everyone is different. Some people are really good at keeping secrets, they do it without even realizing it sometimes. Then there are others, who don't care if everyone knows everything. They could care less if they had anything to hide behind. They don't care about what people think. I wish I could be like them.
Sometimes it's good to hide your secrets though, because we only share them with people who we really think deserve to hear them. Like our loved ones. It's a way of saying "I trust you" or "You make me feel comfortable".
Secrets are a locked box. Secrets are the dark corner in a bright room. Secrets are a finger to the lips. In order to really keep a secret, you need to hide the fact that you have a secret.

I liked when you were being a little cryptic ("Secrets are a finger to the lips"..."They're things we write in our journals.") more than when you were just coming right out and explaining what you meant ("Sometimes it's good to hide your secrets though, because we only share them with people who we really think deserve to hear them.")
